つい先日、とある西高生が英作文を持って来てくれました！


いや、めちゃくちゃ嬉しいですね。


こうやって一生懸命書いた文章を持ってきてくれると、ついつい山口も張り切ってしまいます。


そしてついつい張り切り過ぎて、添削にとどまらず自分でも実際に書いてみます。



もちろん、個人情報になってしまいますのでご本人が書いてくれた文章はこの場では紹介しません。


その代わりに、山口が書いてみた『一見それっぽく書いているのに恐らくは大減点を喰らってしまうダメな英文』を紹介させていただきます。

【課題文】

Some people say that it is necessary for people to go to important historical sites in order to understand history better. Do you agree with this opinion?

【山口が書いてみた”一見よさそうに見えてダメな解答例”】

I don’t think people have to visit important historical sites to understand history better. I have two reasons. First, all we have to do to study history is to watch several movies at home. Now that we can search the internet for information easily, we do not always need to visit historical sites. Second, Visiting historical sites costs a lot of time and money. I think learning online gives us insight into history and saves time and money.

『歴史をより深く理解する上で、重要な歴史的史跡を訪れる必要はないと思う。理由は二つある。まず第一に、歴史を学ぶのであれば、自宅でいくつかの動画さえ見ればそれでよい。今となっては情報を簡単にインターネットで検索することができるのだから、現地を訪れる必要はない。第二に、直接現地を訪れるとたくさんの時間とお金がかかってしまう。ネット上で学ぶことで、歴史についての理解を深めることができるし、時間とお金も節約できる。』

浅い・・・。

一見それっぽい文法や単語を駆使して、”それっぽく”取り繕った文章ですが、根拠が薄い論理展開ですね。

この文は文法では減点されないかもしれませんが、『論理的思考』の部分で大減点でしょう。

★確かに今はネットで充分な情報が得られる。

★でも実際には○○さんが書いてくれているように、『でも現地に行けば、ネットでは得られないような美しさや興味深さが得られるんじゃないの？』という意見もあるはずです（これを論破しなければならない）。

だからそこまで掘り下げなければならない。

『動画を観るだけで充分だよね』
⇒『え？本当にそれで充分なの？？歴史を勉強するんだよ？？（反対意見）』

⇒『今の技術なら映像で当時の状況を具体的に理解できるよね』

Today, people can learn about historical events through documentaries, virtual tours, and online materials. Therefore, visiting historical sites is no longer the only effective way to understand history.

それでは賛成意見、反対意見の模範解答を見ていきましょう！

【賛成意見】

I agree that visiting important historical sites is necessary to understand history better.

First, seeing actual historical sites helps people imagine how people lived in the past. It is easier to understand historical events when we see real buildings, battlefields, or monuments with our own eyes.

Second, visiting such places makes people more interested in history. Many students think history is boring when they only read textbooks, but visiting historical sites can make history feel more real and exciting.

For these reasons, I believe visiting important historical sites is an effective way to learn history.

【反対意見】

I do not think it is necessary for people to visit important historical sites in order to understand history better.

Today, people can learn a great deal about history through books, documentaries, and the internet. These sources often provide more detailed information than people can get simply by visiting historical sites.

In addition, visiting historical places requires a lot of time and money. Some people cannot travel easily, but they can still study history effectively at home.

【難関国公立大学の英作文に対応するために】


この手の英作文についてですが、まずは『これは英語の試験ではなく、国語の試験である』という認識を持つこと。



最低限の英単語や英文法は必要ですが、超絶難単語や難構文を用いる必要はありません。


・SVO＋M句

・because :however :therefore: when

とりあえずこれだけで充分！（つーかこれが限界）

むしろこれだけでいかに説得力のある英文を書けるか？



難関大はそこを要求しています。




そのためには英語も大切なのですが、常に日本語で思考すること。



理由についても、自分が考えた理由に対して、常に反対意見があるのではないか？と考えなければなりません。




最初に山口が書いた『歴史を学ぶのであれば、今はインターネットで充分！』という根拠も、（いやいや・・・だけど現地に行った方が刺激になるだろうし、勉強するモチベーションも上がるんじゃないの？）という反対意見が出るはずです。





・・・と他にも言いたいことはあったのですが、時間が来ましたのでこの辺で！
